Secret Dealings

Texas is one of only a handful of states which do not require property sales prices to be disclosed.

The MLS reports prices and allows appraisers to keep home appraisals close to market values, but commercial sales are cloaked in secrecy.

The Texas Association of Appraisal Districts estimates: Texas commercial property is undervalued by 40 percent.

About Us

Brian Rodgers is a real estate investor and developer who, for 25 years, has catered to Austin’s homegrown businesses and has developed the effort behind this website. Brian is known as the founder of the Stop Domain Subsidies (Proposition 2) petition effort to stop the $65 million corporate subsidies proposed for the Domain Shopping Center.  Though Prop 2 narrowly failed (at 48%), the effort has led to continued efforts by Austin area citizens to rein in corporate welfare and to new citizen involvement — from across geographical and partisan lines—in local issues.

Karen Kreps of Net Ingenuity serves as the website content manager.
